Church and State may be separate, but God and the Senate are "together"...

Just found out from CNN that there's a Senate Chaplain who opens the day with a prayer... a Christian prayer. This guy is apparently getting all testy because of the government shutdown and is actually saying some good things. But before we get into the substance of what he's saying, I'm wondering who pays his salary and why is he even there?

In my opinion, this is the type of religious bullshit that needs to be completely purged from our government. How is this even legal? I think the Atheist organizations are wasting the time attempting to remove 10 commandment descriptions and works of art from government buildings, maybe they should focus on this instead. This blatant show of religious ritual in a government funded facilities MUST stop. United States alignment with the Christian faith is part of the basic ammunition every Islamic Jihadist wields against us.

Why isn't there a Senate Imam? A rabbi? Why isn't there a priest of the FSM church along with this Senate Chaplain instead?

God... and when I say "god" I'm not addressing a bearded man in the sky... this is so dumb!

The government should stay shut down. Not because of Obamacare, but because it continues to pander to religious groups in this country. I want my government as far away from this religious poison as possible. Anyone who prays to a God is not fit to control my destiny. We have come a long way towards becoming agnostic, but there's still a very long way left to go.

Will the atheists please stand up?

Look, I'm not bashing on the man himself.  I've no issues with religion staying in it's church.  But this should not be part of our government.
